On Tuesday 13th December, Key Stage 2 performed their play entitled 'Mr Scrooge's Christmas'. It was performed in front of parents and the Year 6 children were able to show off the acting skills which they have developed this year. The production was also an opportunity for the children in Key Stage 2 to showcase their musical talents. Pupil Voice Update

Pupil Voice Council met on Monday 3rd of October to discuss and plan some exciting forthcoming events. The children came up with lots of exciting ideas for how we can fundraise for Children in Need. Some of the suggestions included filling a giant Pudsey with coins, paying £1 to dress in spotty outfits and to have a cake sale. A discussion about how the children in school will participate in our Black History Day was also on the agenda. The councillors thought about different people and themes for each class to study. More information on this will follow.

World Book Day

On Thursday 3rd March, the pupils at Edna G. Olds Academy celebrated world book day by taking part in a book swap within the school. The afternoon was set out in a similar way to theme sharing afternoons with children swapping classes. However, instead of sharing our learning we shared our favourite books with other members of the school. Children were given the opportunity to ask each other questions about the books and take some recommendations.

Film Night

On 18th January 2016 Edna G. Olds Academy hosted a movie night as part of their ongoing fundraising. The money raised will be put towards curriculum enrichment activities during the summer term.
A list of movies that pupils wanted to watch was gathered by the pupil voice council representatives in each class. The list then went back to the pupil voice council, who after considering all the movies suggested, decided on ‘Shrek the Third’ as it was a movie everyone could enjoy!
At 3 o’clock the children entered the hall in preparation for the film to begin at 3:15pm. The hall was set up just like a real cinema and the children were able to enjoy snacking on their popcorn and drink. The event was a great success and pupil voice look forward to considering new ways of raising money for the school.
